What is USB Type C ?

It is a another new port like micro USB ,thunderbolts & Lighting ports.

We all know  usb 3.0 and usb 2.0 port .USB C port is USB 3.1 with reversible type connector.It is much smaller than normal usb 3.0 port ,smaller port like micro usb.

It is much faster then previous one's.

Advantages of USB C port:

size:

It is a tiny port like micro USB .for its smaller size it can be used in Mobile Phone ,

tablet,note books.size is a big advantage for usb c port .

power:

It carry up to 100 watts (20 volt and 5 Amp ) power.which is enough power to charge a 

Macbook ,ultra book ,phone ,tablet. USB c can also deliver bi-directional power .

Data:

USB C transfer data up to 10GB/Sec. which is much more than previous generation USB ports.It is enough speed for a SSD drive and Display ports.

Reversible:

It does not depended on the direction which way you put it in .

Whats does it looks like ?

It is look almost same as micro USB but it is reversible.

Supporting ports & devices:

It support normal USB ,HDMI ,display port .but you will need an adapter.

Now which Devices offer USB C port ?

The New Macbook 12" has a usb c port for charging and data transfer.

New Chrome book Pixel has 2 usb c port .nokia N1 Tablet has USB C port.

USB C port is the future of all port .In near future every port is converted to USB C port .

than you will not carry more than one chargers .one charger for your all devices.
